Babytol D3 for you! capsules are an additional source of vitamin D3. They are intended for use in infants and children. Vitamin D3 is a very important vitamin, which plays one of the crucial roles when it comes to bone growth and development in children. Its role in the absorption of calcium and phosphorus, minerals that have a bone-building function, is one of the most significant. Therefore, its use as a dietary supplement is recommended from the earliest period after birth.

It is the natural ability of human skin to produce vitamin D when exposed to the sun's rays. More precisely, under the influence of the sun's rays, the inactive form of vitamin D passes into the active form – vitamin D3.This is certainly one of the most interesting facts about vitamin D. Hence its popular name - the sun vitamin. However, in this way, a sufficient amount of vitamin D cannot always be provided, especially in babies and young children. Due to the harmfulness of the sun's rays during the summer, and the weaker exposure of children to the sun and the application of creams with protective factors, children do not get enough vitamins in this way. Also, even during the winter period, you cannot get enough vitamin D in this way, because there are not many sunny days.

Vitamin D3 helps the absorption of important bone-building minerals – calcium and phosphorus from the digestive tract and thus allows normal bone development and growth. This is why vitamin D is also important for maintaining normal teeth.

This role of vitamin D has only been discovered and thoroughly explored over the last few decades.

The European Association of Pediatric Gastroenterologists, Hepatologists and Nutritionists recommends the use of vitamin D3 at a dose of 400 IU from birth to the end of the first year. National associations of pediatricians, as well as guides for newborns, are aligned with this recommendation. 400 IU of vitamin D3 is recommended daily, from the 8th day after birth until the end of the first year. After the first year, pediatricians recommend the use of vitamin D3 at a dose of 400 IU per day in the winter months (October to March).
