Answer

Vitamin K1, also known as the “vitamin of coagulation” has a very important role in the complex processes of blood clotting. Vitamin K1 prevents disorders in the process of coagulation in newborns, as well as the possible severe adverse effects that can occur due to its deficiency. Vitamin K1 protects the baby from bleeding, and it contributes to healthy development in early childhood.

Answer

Human milk contains very low levels of vitamin K1, so daily breastfeeding in the amount of 500 ml milk in 24h, do not provide the daily needs of vitamin K1. In the first six months of a baby’s life, needs for vitamin K increases in the range from 1 to 25 mcg.

Due to the low concentration of vitamin K1 in human milk, and the risk of vitamin K1 deficiencies, all babies who are breastfeeding, according to the European and national recommendations, should have a prolonged oral application of Vitamin K1 in doses of 25 mcg from the eighth day of life till the end of the third month of the baby’s life.

Answer

If you give your baby more than two meals of baby’s formula daily, then your baby does not need vitamin K1, because it takes the appropriate amount through the formula.

If the baby takes more than two baby’s formula meals per day, you should still continue giving vitamin D3 in doses of 400 IJ.

The product Babytol D3 + DHA Omega, which contains vitamin D3 in the recommended daily amount, as well as 100mg of DHA, is recommended.

Answer

Late haemorrhagic disease is a serious and severe condition which occurs due to vitamin K1 deficiency. It most often occurs in the period between the second and the twelfth month of a newborns life, with severe bleeding, mostly in the brain.

Due to the severe and difficult consequences of this condition, prophylaxis is mandatory for all newborns immediately after birth in a maternity hospital, in dose of 1 mg, administered intramuscular.

Furthermore, all newborns who are brestfeeding, according to European and national recommendations, should have prolonged oral prophylaxis with BABYTOL D3+K1 from the eighth day of life, until the end of the third month of the newborn’s life.

Answer

Vitamin K1 does not have any side effect, it can only help and protect your baby. You can use it without any worry, according to the usage instruction and in recommended dosage of 25 mcg daily.

Answer

Infant formula is already enriched with vitamin K1, and depending on the daily intake of milk, the baby takes around 50mcg of vitamin K1 daily through formula.

If the baby is fed with formula more than twice per day, supplementation with Babytol D3 + K1 is not necessary.

If you still continued with giving Babytol D3 + K1, even though its formula fed, don’t worry, nothing is going to happen, because overdosing caused by these dosages is not possible.

Answer

One capsule per day should be taken. Application is very comfortable and easy:

The upper part of the capsule (the cap) needs to be twisted, pulled, and removed. The capsule should be pressed, and the capsule’s contents need to be squeezed out directly into the infant’s mouth.

The contents can also be squeezed out into a spoon, or mixed with milk.

Answer

The capsules are made from eatable gelatine, water soluble, and completely safe for infant use.
If your baby has swallowed a capsule, and is behaving normally, nothing can happen, the gelatine is digested by the body, without any harm to the baby.

Twist-off shape of the capsule is designed to be friendly to use in infants. Namely, they don’t know how to swallow, and the capsule is opened for this reason!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Take care when opening the capsule, in case the oil leaks out and the capsule becomes slippery!

Answer

The recommended daily dose of vitamin D3 for all newborns is 400 IJ, and must be applied daily from 8.day of life, until the baby’s first birthday.

One twist-off capsule of the products Babytol D3+K1, Babytol D3 + DHA Omega and Babytol D3 contains recommended daily dose of 400 IJ of vitamin D3.

It is recommended that children from their second year and up to adolescence take vitamin D3 during the winter months (from October to March).

Answer

Babytol D3+K1 is a combination of two important vitamins necessary for the healthy development of newborns, in daily recommended dosage of 400IJ of Vitamin D3, for preventing the rickets, and 25mcg of Vitamin K1, for preventing the late haemorrhagic disease.

Babytol D3+K1 should be used from 8. day of the infant’s life, until the third month, in newborns who are breastfed, and in infants that have a mixed diet that contains less than two meals of infant’s formula throughout the day.

Other products contains vitamin D3 only, not in the recommended daily dosage.

Vitamin A is not recommended for the daily supplementation in newborns because breast milk is rich in vitamin A. No additional supplementation is needed. Baby’s formula also has the recommended amount of vitamin A. Vitamin A is liposoluble vitamin, and amounts greater than daily needs are stored in the body, which may lead to adverse effects.

Answer

You should supplement Babytol D3+K1 to you baby starting from the 8.day of the infant’s life, and up to the end of the third month. This is a sufficient period for vitamin K1 supplementation, because after this period, the body will synthesise the vitamin in adequate amounts on its own.

If the baby is on a mixed diet in the third month, being formula fed more than two times daily, vitamin K1 supplementation will not be necessary in the third month.

It is however necessary, whatever the case may be, to continue with vitamin D3 supplementation, in doses of 400IJ daily, until the baby’s first year of life, and additionally during the winter months (from October to March) from its first year, and by the end of its third.

Answer

Dissolve the powder in the sachet in 200 ml of boiled and cooled water. The powder can also be dissolved in bottled water. Do not dissolve the powder in other liquids (juice, tea, milk…) because you will change the osmotic concentration of the solution and the solution will not have the same efficiency. Take the solution in smaller portions.

Answer

DHA Omega-3 fatty acids is an important structural component of the brain, neurons and the retina. DHA makes up to 97% of all omega-3 fatty acids in the brain, and up to 93% of all omega-3 fatty acids in the retina.

The growth and development of the children’s brain is the most intense during the third trimester of the pregnancy (the brain is growing 260%) and in the first year of life (brain is growing 175%).

Recommended daily intake of DHA Omega-3 fatty acids in infats is 100 mg starting from the eighth day of life until the end of the third year. Supplementation in the daily dose of 100 mg DHA is very important for the development of the brain, cognitive and mental functions, as well as for the normal vision development.

Answer

In order to provide the appropriate amount of DHA omega-3 through breastfeeding, mother need to take 250 to 300 grams of “blue” sea fish (salmon, sardelas, haringa, tuna). Statistic data show that mothers in Europe take few times less of the recommended intake. One reason is because of the general dietary habits (less than two meals of fatty fish per week), and the other reason is the dietary restrictions due to the presence of heavy metals (lead, mercury) in fatty fish.

Mother who are breastfeeding can provide the appropriate amount of DHA omega-3 through the milk if she takes 200 mg of DHA per day.

Answer

The fishy smell comes from Omega-3 fatty acids, including DHA. DHA omega – 3 fatty acid always smells of fish, but because babies and children do not like this smell, scientists in Switzerland have found a way to improve the production process and technology to remove this smell in Babytol DHA Omega.
